INDIVIDUAL ELEMENTS

Warden Training & Certification involves equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to ensure safety during emergencies. Participants will learn the roles and responsibilities of a warden, including how to manage and lead evacuations. The training covers evacuation procedures, ensuring that everyone exits the building quickly and safely. Additionally, it focuses on communication and coordination during emergencies, teaching wardens how to effectively relay information and work with emergency services. The training includes practical exercises and scenarios to simulate real-life situations, allowing participants to apply their knowledge in a controlled environment.

Fire Extinguisher Training provides essential knowledge and skills for safely using fire extinguishers. Participants will learn about the types of fire extinguishers and their uses, ensuring they can identify and select the correct extinguisher for different types of fires. The training covers fire safety procedures, teaching how to assess a fire situation and respond appropriately. Participants will also engage in hands-on practice with fire extinguishers, gaining confidence in their ability to operate them effectively. Additionally, the training emphasises safety precautions, ensuring that all actions taken during a fire emergency prioritise personal and public safety.

Simulated Fire Hose Training equips participants with the skills needed to safely and effectively use fire hoses during emergencies. The training covers the types of fire hoses and their specific uses, helping participants understand which hose is appropriate for different fire situations. It includes fire safety procedures, focusing on how to assess a fire and the correct steps to take before deploying a fire hose. Participants will engage in hands-on practice with simulated fire hoses, allowing them to master hose handling techniques in a controlled environment. The training also emphasizes safety precautions, ensuring that all actions taken during a fire emergency are conducted with the highest regard for safety.

BSBWHS211 - Contribute to the health and safety of self and others

This is a comprehensive unit that equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to maintain a safe working environment, closely connected to Warden Training & Certification, Fire Extinguisher Training, and Simulated Fire Hose Training. This unit covers understanding workplace health and safety regulations, ensuring that participants are aware of their legal responsibilities, which are crucial in all emergency response roles. It also emphasises identifying hazards and risks in the workplace, a key skill for fire wardens and those handling fire safety equipment. Participants will learn how to implement safety measures effectively, which directly supports their roles in using fire extinguishers and hoses safely and efficiently. The unit also stresses the importance of reporting incidents and near-misses, a critical component of ongoing safety and emergency preparedness. Through group discussions and case studies, participants can explore real-world scenarios that tie together the principles of fire safety and workplace health, enhancing their ability to respond confidently in emergencies.
